As I've mentioned before, I've got roadmaps for all of the songs DONE, I've done a lot of scratch vocals, a lot of the bass parts, a lot of keyboards already.
There are adequate scratch drums for cutting guitars on every song.
Ted has stated he's not really interested in this one.
Tony, as you well know it's Chris who doesn't care, about crime, and podcasting.
I very much do care, and would be happy to engineer, and assist with this project, as I also dearly love the record, I simply have no illusions as to who could play the parts better. Across the board the answer is 'Not Me'. I suppose I could 'one finger' some of the synth stuff, I could be a part of the 'crowd' on Witch Hunt. I might even be able to manage the chime at the top of YYZ, though I think that's Machold territory.
Time is the major issue. Hey, wait that's another record altogether.....
That chime on YYZ is a crotale, I believe. Played in 7/8 time. Morse Code.
Guess we're gonna have to get one...
I think the idea with Moving Pictures would be to lovingly cover the record without worrying about recreating it too much. Of course, once you start playing Rush's bits, you want to do 'em right.
Yeah Dave, put yer ES where yer mouth is....well, actually don't, but come on by and play yer guitar, I'm going to Sam Ash to get that 'spark pluggy thing' for the Marshall.
I can't do tonight, but this weekend might find me free for some work.
I totally agree that it should be a fun re-thinking of the record. For example, I contend that YYZ should be all acoustic - until the guitar solo kicks in.

Let's set a time then!
Nuthing a good nut ring wouldn't fix.

Well, blow me down.
Turns out that Lifeson also has a private pilot license.
