Charles Rocket has apparently killed himself.
Although I was mighty young at the time, I remember the big brouhaha when he managed to curse on live TV. Twenty five years later, it seems almost quaint that there could be such an uproar.
Charles, we hardly knew ye.
No, I mean it. I really have no idea what you did after that season. Rest in peace.

I remember that episode, yep, I'm old. It was a spoof on 'Dallas' and the whole 'who shot JR' thing. He, Charles, or 'CR' was shot at the end of the last episode of the last season. Knowing that the entire cast (exception Eddie Murphy) was being canned because they sucked loudly, he managed to eek in 'I wanna know who the fuck shot me'. It's an interesting concept, cursing on live tv, and though I have not watched SNL for a few years now, I do know that both Steven Tyler and Eddie Murphy managed to get the 'F' word in on a live broadcast - by singing it. Eddie did it when he preformed with The Bus Boys on their hit 'The Boys Are Back In Town', not to be confused with the Thin Lizzy song of the same name. He changed the line from 'Butt Stompin Rhythm and Blues' to 'Butt Fucking...." Steven Tyler can't get through a song without getting the 'F' word in, it would seem.
That was definitely the cast of doom. I think that was also the only season that Lorne Michaels was away from the show.
It was Dick Ebersol's year, he got canned, and they brought Lorne back. Lorne Kept Eddie, and maybe Piscopo.
